Last updated: 2026-09-18. This policy replaces any earlier version. Material changes will be reflected in this date and, where the change is significant, in a notice on the front page.
What is collected
OhmPedia is a static reference. There are no accounts, no comment forms, no newsletter and no upload. The site does not ask for a name, an address, a telephone number or any other identifier. Two categories of data are nevertheless produced when a page is served: server log records, written by the web server, and measurement data written by the advertising and analytics scripts described below.
Server logs
The web server records the requested path, the time of the request, the referring page if the browser sends one, the user-agent string, and the IP address. These records are used to detect abuse and to count traffic, and are retained for a limited period before rotation.
Google AdSense and cookies
This site is supported by advertising served through Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
DoubleClick and personalised advertising
Google uses the DoubleClick advertising cookie, among others, to serve and measure advertising. Users may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings, and may opt out of third-party vendor cookies for personalised advertising by visiting aboutads.info or the equivalent page maintained by the European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance.
Your rights under the GDPR
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the General Data Protection Regulation gives you the right to be informed, the right of access, the right to rectification, the right to erasure, the right to restrict processing, the right to data portability, and the right to object. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time; withdrawing it does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal. Requests concerning these rights may be sent to [email protected], and a response will be given within the period the regulation allows.
Your rights under the CCPA
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act gives you the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to know whether it is sold or shared and to whom, the right to say no to the sale or sharing of personal information, the right to request deletion, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. OhmPedia does not itself sell personal information. Requests may be sent to [email protected].
Legal basis and retention
Where the GDPR applies, the legal basis for serving contextual advertising and for keeping server logs is legitimate interest in operating and funding the site; the legal basis for personalised advertising and for any analytics cookie is consent, collected by the consent mechanism presented on first visit. Log records are kept only as long as they are useful for abuse detection and traffic counting.
Children
This site is a technical reference and is not directed at children. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children, and no advertising on it is configured for child-directed treatment.
Changes and contact
Questions about this policy, and requests relating to any of the rights described above, go to [email protected]. Requests are answered at the address the request comes from unless another address is given.
